Maytag M6Y18F7A Air Conditioner troble light turns off
Have unit for about 5 years. AC will work and run cool from 30 minutes to several hours. AC will then get loud, rattle and shut off with yellow trouble light. Unit will eventually start back up and go through same problem. It has a digital control system. Should I just replace or can this be fixed????

You have to open the unit up or atleast see if the fan is failing. The blower motor is usually a double shaft and cool the compressor and also blows the air across the evaporator. Look for the air to stop blowing then the compressor to shake from overheating.
