Maytag MAH3000AWW My washer does not always extract the water. Sometimes it does a great job, other times, we open the door and it's full of water. Lately - even suds in the water. I hear the drum spnning and it sounds like the pump is running - but it's not always draining. FYI - when the water does drain - the water comes out with great pressure - which tells me there is no blockage in the drain line. I took out the drain pump - and the black 'flow valve' on the outside appears to be a little flimsy....but it looks like it should be closing just fine. I'm shooting in the dark here
It is is normal for the Neptune to have water left in the inner tub after the wash finishes! I used to have a Neptune and I sold them too!! I had them change that drain under warranty when it was new and it never stopped the smell or the mold! If there is a lot of water left then it's the pump or valve! After the third repair I threw it in the trash and bought a Speed Queen Commercial grade washer and thats the last one I will ever by! 8 loads a week for 25 years!!!!!!!
**************************************************************** The moldy oder problem is in every Maytag Neptune made! The Neptune comes new with water in it from the test run! All the water never gets totally discharged. This is one reason why everyone complains about the moldy, musky or even stinky smell of the Neptune! Every day I have people here asking what too do about the moldy wet smell! THIS IS SERIOUS!!!!!
I do tell them to run the washer once a week without clothes and with hot water and 1/4 cup of bleach. And then make suer to do only white clothes directly after wards as not to get a drop of beach water on a colored article of clothing! Then leave the door open after every load when not in use! That's Maytag!!!!!!!! GOOD THING WHIRLPOOL JUST BOUGHT THEM OUT LAST YEAR! Perhaps they will make some good changes!!
Hope this helps and makes you feel a little better as to some water sounds! HOW OLD IS THE WASHER??????

Your pump is probably fine. I have had this problem on many occassions, regularly for about 2 years. when you spin, the wire harness to the motor board comes a little loose. try taking off the front of the machine, unplugging and reseating all the wiring harnesses that go into the motor board under the wash tub. This fixed my problem for several years, after maytag had come out and replaced the pump, motor, belts, motor control board, and main control board several times (not all at once). the thing in common when they did this is that they unplugged these wires and replugged them. Occassionally had to do to main board, but usually the motor board. If still doesn't work, look at your main control board at R11. you may have a wax motor door lock problem. A failing wax motor burns R11 resister (or alternately, a failing R11/triac kills the wax motor -- there is debate about which order the failure occurs in). If R11 is burned, must replace R11 and associated triac and wax motor. temporary fix just cut out R11. instructions can be found if you google it. I've been playing with my worthless machine now for about 3 years since my extended warranty expired. It is still working but is a bit like a Ford (you know, Fix Or Repair Daily, Found On Road Dead...)
***MOLD ISSUE*** The only solution is to leave the door open after you have stopped using it and you will have no MOLD .As for the water is always left in the washer tub is because you have a clogged water pump.It is a fast and easy repair that requires no $$$.Just your skills with a couple common tools and some patience. NOTE *** Whirlpool buying out Maytag in my eyes is far from a good thing. This is why ---> When the #1 Washer maker (Maytag) sells out then they should do it and go completely out.Whirlpool can now build machines and use Maytag's name and I hope you see the downfall consumers will face? And if you follow closely ,Maytag's worst washers made were not even made by Maytag .You just paid alot more for the name that is printed on the front of a low grade machine.Sales trick that should never be legal.
