Maytag MDE3000ayw. When I press the start button, there is a humming sound, but it won't start. Is this likely a problem with the start button, or the motor? The belt is fine

It's not the start button if it responds to the button. Make sure the motor spins freely. If so, make sure you have voltage going to the motor. If so, check the start capacitor (if equipped) Good luck.
