Good morning, I have a Maytag Neptune DC Electric Dryer Model #: MCE8000AYQ Rev# 14 Serial #14484360GG The dryer is putting out heat and the drum is trying to turn, and does turn better if I lighten the load. However, it is not turning, (rotating) nearly as well as it should. It is definitely struggling and I do not want to burn the motor up. When you first hit the start button, there is no rotation and the smell of burning rubber. I have to help it turn to get it going. This would be the belt I suspect,(hope) but I am asking for guidance to let me know if I should suspect just the belt or if it is the whole drive assembly? If the motor is working fine, but the belt is stretched, would the motor keep turning as fast as it normally would causing more smoke from the rubber of the belt or would it slow down knowing there is a problem? The dryer cabinet is working fine. The only manual I can find is for a complete disassembly of the machine. Not problem specific. Thank you very much for your time.
