Memory module failure causing Motherboard or bios failure
Hi!
I removed my memory on Wednesday. and today my computer had several serious problems. My motherboard has two pairs of memory modules: one blue and one purple and then a space and the second pair: one blue and one purple. I think I ruined the last pair of the modules When I placed memory in the blue module of the failed (second pair) the computer will not turn on at all and it emits long beeps. When I place a memory stick in the other failed module (purple), I get this error message:
Award bootblock bios1.0
bios rom checksum error
detecting floppy drive a media,
insert system disk and the floppy drive a is blinking.

The other 2 modules that hold my memory work fine. ANd I have placed my memory sticks in these two. And there are no error messages.

Before I took my memory out on Wed. I had one memory stick in the first pair and one memory stick in the second pair.
Also, before I removed the memory my computer was working fine.
Any suggestions and informaiton about these errors would be greatly appreciated. Is this a serious issue? Is there anyway to get the second pair of modules working? What do you think caused this failure?

Thank you for your time,
Liz
