If the buttons are micro-switch type buttons (like you would have on a car's alarm remote) and they don't have the proper feel, then the monitor is probably ready for the recycle bin. Doing a little looking around it appears that the monitor you have is prone to failure. I think you should look into a replacement. Samsung makes a great monitor these days.
