Hi i have made a mess of windows on my note book. when i bought it it worked fine it had windows xp on it but i was told to put my own windows on it. i only had windows 98 (or so i thought) so i loaded it and i dont know what ive done but the windows disc i used asked me to insert disc 2 and that was when i realised i didn't have it. so now nothing works the writing has gone all big all of the important folders are there but are empty and it won't recognise anything everything comes up with errors and nothing works. Do i just have to get new windows (and if so which one) or have i really messed it up? and need to take to someone to reinstall all of the drivers ect... please help as i havn't got a clue as to what i am doing. many thanks and kind regards Liz.
