Brand new: 1.Some microphones have a dynamic mic meaning it will work with all audio inputs but this may have a condensor mic meaning it requires phantom power to operate. your computer soundcard may not supply this. so you need to purchase a phantom power injector.. there availible at most audio stores and electronics retailers.
if your unit had worked before but has since stopped:
2. Microphone lead/connection is faulty if your feeling confident you will need to disasemble the unit and replace the lead
tools you will need: screwdrivers, multimeter soldering iron solder.
and some single wire shielded cable again availiable at most electronics stores. just need to replace cable with new one and add a 3.5mm Jack to end..
