Microwave keeps shutting off
My Oster 1.2 Cu Ft Microwave (OM1201E0VG) is just over a year old. Lately it has been shutting down after a short period (less than 2 minutes). After a few minutes, it comes back on. We are unable to use it for longer periods of time.

The magnetron is overheating, tripping the thermostat, which shuts off all power until it cools down.
This is usually caused by a blocked air vent, failed internal cooling fan, or failing magnetron.
If it's out of warranty, I'm sure you'll find it's uneconomical to repair, even if you could get parts for this brand.

Did you remove the piece of cardboard covering the air vent when you unpacked the microwave from its original box?
am i suppose to remove that cardboard piece? i have no idea and the manual does not say anything
