Miele G 870 SC dishwasher had blocked drainage due to stopped up sewer which got snaked out by plumber. Ever since, the drain pump won't stop running. Have cleared the trap, filter, and drain-filter and still the pump runs continuously
Dishwashers - Miele - 24 in. G870 Built-in Dishwasher
The problem is with the float switch mechanism located at the bottom of the unit...either this has gone bad and should be replaced or the pump itself is bad & should be checked. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
The drain pump or non-return valve may be blocked. * Turn off the dishwasher. * Remove the triple filter. * Use a jug or bowl to scoop water out of the wash cabinet. * Tilt the locking clamp to the side. * Pull out the non-return valve and rinse well under running water. The drain pump is beneath the non-return valve (see arrow). * Before returning the non-return valve, check that the drain pump is not blocked. Spin the propeller several times in both directions to check for obstructions. * Carefully refit the non-return valve and secure it with the locking clamp. * Refit and lock the filter in place.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
