I have read your problem and have the fallowing for you to aces. First, this unit is for medical use only and should be serviced by a certified mechanic. The reason I have made this statement is, if you make repairs to this unit and their is a failure, the company that issued this unit, will not be responsible for its malfunctions. Now that is out of the way, if you remove the cover from this unit, you will see a small compressor at the base. This unit is a direct drive air cooled unit and needs very little upkeep. At the base of the unit, you will find a screw on filter. Sometime this filter will become restricted and reduce air flow and drag to the motor. This filter can only be ordered direct from the factory or issuing distributor. Also, this filter should be changed every 6 to 8 months. Another thing you may want to check is the length and condition of the power cord for this unit. The reason I have asked you to check to condition of the power cord is, you have stated that on 2 occasions the unit has blown breakers. I would use a different outlet, one that is closer to your main breaker panel. The last suggestion would be to keep unit on a bare floor and not to set on a high carpet for ventilation to the motor. I hope this information finds you in good health for the holiday's Thanks, John Please rate kindly.
I did not mention that their is a cooling fan located on the top of the compressor motor but if unit is shutting down after just a few minutes of operation, I don't think that would be a problem as the fan motor is for keeping the motor cool and in the first few minutes of operation, you unit would not be able to build up that kind of heat to cycle down.
I have had mine for about 5 years and it was given to me as a gift from someone here on my block.
I have disassembled mine and have been using it as a portable air compressor on wheels.
I hooked up a 30 lb. freon can to the discharge line with a regulator and automatic shutoff valve, works pretty good.

Well the service required light indicates a failure has occurred most likely in the electronic controls of the machines funtions, there is nothing u can do to fix this, nor is it advised that you even try, this machine requires a trained professional to diagnose and repair it, there are no parts or repair manuals sold to the public.
yes you are right, the cost of repair may very well exceed the cost or come close to the cost of a new unit.yes you are right, the cost of repair may very well exceed the cost or come close to the cost of a new unit.
