Mitsubishi 73" DLP TV (Lamp going out?)
Hi, in the past couple of days we are noticing that whites and mostly blues in the background have a glassy or shiny flickering effect, sometimes like a window in the background or a TV monitior on a news program will have a white blotch in the middle. Is this a sign that the projection lamp is going bad. I would hate to put out the $179-$249.00 they are asking and then find out that is no the problem. Appreciate you advise. Thanks..........Don

This is definitely not a bad lamp. The lamp can only make a picture or no picture. never can cause weird video problems. I do however think i know whats wrong with your set, and it may be covered under an extended warranty from mitsubishi. if you get back to me with the model number i will assist you further.
