It sound like the video refresh rate is to low. To change the video refresh rate consult your monitors user guide and if you are running WIN XP operating system you can try the following:

Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
Alternatively, right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
Click the Settings tab, and then click Advanced.
