1. Connection: Make sure that both ends are connected properly, 2. Monitor: Most newer monitor has 3 options: VGA or DVI or Automatic. Test the "Automatic" and "VGA" options. 3. Cycle your display option using your laptop keyboard (Alt + F4). Please tap the F4 several times (to change the option to Mirror, Laptop Display only, External Monitor only)
