It sounds like you have answered your own question automatic chokes are designed to keep the motor runnning at Idle until the machine is warmed up while I dont think they are a good thing on motor cycles particularly in warmer climates. the one question I must ask how many k's has this little beast travelled if its alot being two stroke it is probably due for a decoke & a new set of rings if not A rebore new piston &rings all the best
Ok its only new so shouldnt be to much to check start by turning the mixture screw all the way in then back it out 1&1/2 turns this should put your air fuel mixture right if you find its still rich backit out another 1/4to1/2 turn no more not sure wether this one runs pre mix or if it has a self mixing system ie an oil tank & pump either way you need to check that the end result is the correct measure of oil & fuel to much oil & thye plug will foul and wont efficiently burn fuel especialy when cold
