Motor shorted out and will not run
When I last plugged it in fire flew all around the motor. When I removed the shroud later I found at least 6 or 8 very small wires that had been burned off the stator and the cooling fan was distorted. I believe that I will need a completely new motor.

THE MOTOR WILL PROBABLY COST ALMOST AS MUCH AS THE WHOLE THING. I WOULDNT TRY TO GET MOTOR REBUILT EITHER, THEY NEVER HOLD FOR ME. MAYBE BUY ONE EXACTLY LIKE IT SO YOU HAVE SPARE PARTS LATER. MAKE SURE YOUR VOLTAGE IS CORRECT. SOME OF THE SMALL COMPRESSORS CAN BE SWITCHED 115 OR 230 VOLTS.
