Motor spits and sputters
I have an older model 65 hp outboard Evinrude motor that spits and sputters when I go full throttle. It will idle fine and rev up without issues. Also, sometimes when on the lake it will actually run wide open fine and then when I shut down and try again, it starts spitting and sputtering. I changed lines, hoses, plugs, etc. HELP

If it is old enough to have points then I would check them and make shure they are clean and gapped at .020. if that is noth the problem then it sounds like a fuel issue. Either a weak pump or a dirty carb.
