Motor stopped; locked handwheel
I just set up my brand new Juki 654 overlock machine and started working an a project that involved serging together pieces of (mostly) felted cashmere sweaters. It was working like a dream for about all of 10 minutes then suddenly stopped. I removed the fabric (some of which was stuck in the feeder, but was very easy to remove). I couldn't see any obvious tangles, but the handwheel wouldn't turn, and when I pressed on the foot-peddle, there was noise from the motor but no movement. So, I removed all the thread and found nothing amiss on the inside, but it still wouldn't work (handwheel wouldn't turn; machine wouldn't sew). What should I do next???

Remove the needles. See if the handwheel moves now. Since it's a new machine, consult with the seller.
