MSI K8T Neo-2 motherboard beeps when turned on. Initially froze in windows splash screen. Wheen had rebooted just beeps, not bios or anything to the monitor screen
Turned on computer and walked away as usual this morning. Came back into office and was froze on the Windows boot-up spalsh screen (no noises). Hard shut off. Pushed start button and got only beeps. no information to the bios screen or boot sequence. It sounds like two long beeps, then a shorted one, then continual long beeps uuntil it shuts off. I have celaned the CPU and fan, removed memory and swapped slots, and back again. removed graphics card (NVidia 6200 AGP (all I could afford) Dont want to throw parts at it, but it seems graphics related. Thanks for any help. John

The Beeps at start up usually signify a memory fault. You may have a failed RAM stick and just swapping slots will give you the same problem. Get a known good stick and fit it in place of all of yours. If it works, then remove the good stick and start fitting your own memory one stick at a time until you isolate the failed stick. The removal of the graphics card with no change isolates that from the list.
I removed both DIMMS and replaced one with a know good stick. Still beeps at start up.Two longer beeps then one shorter on the long ones until it turns off. I appreciate you reply
From what you say it may be worth taking a good look at the capacitors on your motherboard. You need to make sure that they all have either flat or dished-in tops. In the event that you find any that are domed then you will need to either replace them (if you have the skill) or replace your motherboard. Your board is not exactly in the first flush of youth.
