MUH108 I have a MUH108, single phase heater. Need to confirm the wire & breaker size? The PDF says a 4awg wire, but only 48 amps? That seems awful big on the wire in relationship to the breaker? Please help!

4awg is about the size of battery jumper cable. or 240v multi-strend cable. and 48A is big. double 40A brakers.
the heater is 208v 3-phase 34,000BTU
it is call out to use the 240 comercial wiring.
