If you can get to it, put a meter on the signal wire to the clutch and see if theres voltage when the ac should be on. I've had the coil burn out on a 06 Nissan Pathfinder. Talked to 3 shops and all wanted to replace the compressor. I found a coil online and changed it myself in about 2hrs. Been working for over a year. Point is, if you can determine the exact issue you can probably save some money when talking to a shop.

Actually it wasn't actually a recall they extended the warranty on the A/C clutch to 7 years or 100,000 miles.
