My 12 ford ecoboostG6,when going up ahill with a empty trailer,temperature guage went of the dial & warning came on,pulling over the guage drops back to normal,did it 3 more times going to 75%of temp
Does not show up on the computer, have replaced bottom radiator hose, thermostat, top of radiator checked ,ok, Is blowing cloud of brown smoke on hard acceleration. not sure yet if we have solved the quick overheating problem yet.

Here are several sites that may help you figure out what is happening. My experiences are the faster you pull a hill the hotter the engine and transmission gets. An additional trany cooler may help. Take the hills a little slower in a lower gear. Make sure there is not a restriction in the cooing fins of the radiator and condenser like bugs or paper. Especially the space between the two.
