My thoughts is that after all these years one of the solder joints has cracked and there is enough current that builds up that it will jump accross the crack and work for a short time and then the componenet heats back up and 'well' off it goes. 15 years old. - you got some great use out of this TV. Maybe time to look to get a new one - These types of TV's were only designed to work for 10 year and then throw them away. Be aware that the new ones are only made to last 3 to 4 years. I know - I don't like it either. They cost a lot more than that Panasonic did when it was new. Blessings, A/V Media Guy
