My 15kw portable model 004582 had bad gas in it for over a year, i have cleaned out the tank, fuel lines, carburetor, and fuel pump. replaced the gas filter, plugs, air filter, and some fuel line. It now starts but when i try the auto idle switch it hunts and cant find a clean idle location and never balances out,

Sounds like you missed the low speed jets when you cleaned the carb. They are very small holes and sometimes are behind a plug either rubber or brass.
