My 1988 chevy sprint runs rough when i start it then idles at about 2000 rpm after several minutes and stays at that high idle. i have tried to fix it several times with arebuilt carburetor new plugs cap and rotor air filter. i can,t set the timing because i can,t get the idle down. changing the idle mixture or idle speed screw doesn,t work at all. where do i go next?

I have the same car and mine does the same thing i think its a common problem for the car does yours stall out after roughly 15 minutes after just sitting at idle ?
