My 1997 Bosxter, when I try to open the roof the does not always go down our up the red light on the dash board stays on?. At the same time the windows go down harlf way and will not go back up untill you open and close the car? The fuel tank does read properly and is always ready emepty?
The 1st question concerns problems with a central body control module, the dealer needs to test the module to see what sensor or component is causing this problem, it may be a limit switch or the module itself that is causing the problem with the roof and door glasses. The gas tank has a sensor in it that looks like a toilet float, it is connected to a variablerheostat that sends the level signal of the gas tank to the gauge, these rheostat's fail and then u showempty all the time, the reason they don't fail showing full is to prevent you from thinking u have plenty of fuel and getting stranded, so they always show empty when the level sensor fails inside the gas tank, to replace this part the whole fuel pump module must be replaced.
