My 1997 Grand Cherokee is stuck in four wheel drive and causing the front axles to constantly turn. How can I get the front axles to disengage when the when it is in the neutal possition?

Please try to switch back to 2wd mode in neutral position. then move car for few hundred meters. if this wont help you need to check the linkage mechanism on np242 transfer case.
