That lamp is dead, but can mean lamp out,, no blower blowing,? if not bingo!
the AC has brains, (called AC logic module) it knows that line is dead and cuts out the compressor clutch on all cars.(avoids ice damage with no blower air flow.) If blower is dead, test blower in HIGH first. if works on high but not lower speeds many cars have a blower resistor that burns out, (short lived they are and cheap easy fix)
so that blower is first and on high.,
we have the schematic and any $10 voltmeter easy checks. so?
lacking punctuation in the question. yes if the light is out(good lamp), A/C will be dead. no, if lamp is bad, and AC ok, A/C works.
the lamp only tells you , that the A/C button was selected, and that this demand for AC is sent to the logic module that controls AC and it gets the final say. there are 6 or more way for the AC logic to cut A/C. 1: AC lamp out, (lamp, wires, switch ,etc) 2: blower dead 3: a/c EVAP core freeze up. 4: in passing gear, engine overloaded. 5: cold start. a/c cut. 6: hi/low freon switch tripped. 7: engine overheated. ECU tries to save engine and cuts, AC there can be more, but we lack most facts here.

Check fuses and relays --a few reasons no power -low or no freon --compressor bad --climate switch bad --loose or damaged wiring
