My 1999 Ford Ranger will not start it was running and it shut itself off I have power but it will not turn the car over and will not start up what do I do
Lots of possibilities.... Leave your door open, does the dome light dim when you try to start it? Then it's a low battery. which could be caused by the battery or alternator not charging the battery. Check the battery cables for bad connections. Even if they don't move, they can be corroded. There is a (Mega) fuse 175A beside the fusebox under the hood, that's hidden below a plastic protector, that could have blown. It's bolted in place. Did it overheat when it shut down? Then the motor could be seized and won't move. The ignition switch in the steering column could be broken. The ignition fuses or fusible link in the wire could have blown.
