My 2000 defender 130 wont even turn over on the first start of the day. The first time it happened it took 2 attempts. Yesterday it took 5. I turn the key and it just clicks. I thought it might be the glow plugs but today after about 4 tries I pumped the accelerator 3 times and it started perfectly. I have just bought this car and have already spent thousands on it... starting to worry it might be a lemon

Okay you got a battery problem going on.glow plugs what does the glow plug have to do with just click I say nothing it nothing to do with just click. all you did was great a better connection by drawing current out of it. Pump the acclerator same thing it drew current out of it .can you clean the battery cable that will put you in the right direction. In my personal opinion all my customer have problems with their land rover. the air suspension goes crazy on its own but that is my own opinion. Just enjoy your vehicle Its all spiritual how we treat it it treat us.
