I had that problem. Concluded that Chrysler put the computer above the fenderwell so that when it rains the connections get wet and causes drivability problems.
When I've encountered this, it was due to the spark plug wires failing. You probably can re-create it on a sunny day, by having the hood up, starting the car, and spraying the top of the engine with water. Spark plug wires when they get old, like other rubbery stuff in the engine compartment, get kind of cracked, even when you can't see it. I had two different hondas and a GMC Safari (1998) all have the same symptoms, and the solution was a new set of spark plug wires. Easy fix, buy a set, and replace one wire at a time (from distributor to spark plug) so that you don't get them out of sequence and your problems will probably be over! Good luck!
