My 2006 Hummer H3 is having the same issue with the Four-wheel drive button. Do you put the vehicle in park then neutral and then select 4Up? I was told to drive it backwards to unlock it if it doesn't unlock when you select the normal drive button. Please help

Try backing in a straight line about 10 feet and try to move the shifter again.
If the shifter still won't move, try backing in an "S" pattern while trying to move the shifter.
