My 2170 keeps getting bound up. I was embroidering and thread got caught adn pulled on needle, causing it to bind under plate and now I think it is out of time. I removed all thread I saw caught, but it keeps giving me the motor is blocked warning and continues to bind. It also sounds like it is clicking now when trying to sew. Does it need to be retimed and if so how do I do that?
Just turn off the cutter when you are doing them. The tension may not be the top thread but the bobbin. Bobbin thread is lighter weight and you need to turn the screw to make it a little tighter when using it.try using with another bobbin case . the main motor block after it cut. This indicates to me that the problem on the top. I had a couple of thoughts. On the top part of the machine there is the little silver round tension disc. On the 2144 there is a flange it has two sections. One side of the flange is for bobbin winding and the other for sewing. Do you have your thread on the correct position relative to the flange? This can dramatically make a difference on the top tension. The other thought was that the thread might be coming out of the take up lever after it cuts. Turning off the treader should resolve this temporarily. click on this link directly for more help and suggestions on this issue http://www.pfaff-talk.net/chatroom/mvnforum/viewthread?thread=7230 This will help.
