My 4250 Magellan is having a problem with locations. It tells me to take exit X right now, however exit X is 15 to 20 miles down the road. It appears as though it does not know it's current location. The unit is fully charged, it is plugged in, it has 4 bars so it is getting a good signal, and it is in a holder located on the front windshield. Also the mileage & time to destination are both incorrect. Can anyone help?
This can be a software problem with this unit, the first that you can do first is try resetting the unit and hopefully it correct the problem but if after resetting it and still the same problem a software update should be the next step that you can do and that should fix that concern....
If you are travelling to a route , this is normal, you need to reset route to fix this, it is not a fault.
See for example on page 44 of user manual:
"When a route has been calculated it will be displayed on the Map screen in green with blue arrows indicating direction of travel. The top of the screen displays the name of the street you are on. The bottom provides information about the next maneuver needed. The sample to the right shows that the next maneuver will be to turn right in 3.3 miles"

Hope that helps............
It is the way the GPS displays map, do a reset of all options, this will bring the settings to standard view.
