I hope it is just a power issue. When i tried to turn it back on the other day i got nothing, no sound or blue light, it may have been plugged into a similar looking plug for a different brand of hard drive, but i'm not sure, now that i have tried plugging it in with what i am sure is the correct power supply i still get the same results. there is a unlock logo beside the ac adapter port, is there a way to "unlock the drive."

That is an external drive correct. It should run just off the usb. is the drive recognized ?
