My 50cc scooter is having trouble starting
I have a Baotian BT49QT-11 retro style scooter and its not been used for a bout 4 months.
I have recharged the battery, (previous to not riding for a while) I replaced the spark plug.
There is fule getting through to the carb and it has nearly started whilst on the electronic start.
I squerted a little wd40 into the carb and it did start straight away. but Im worried that this might do harm if its done to often.
The bike is stored in the garage and it seems to get like this when its cold or left in the wet for too long.
Any Idaea how I can get it start every time? and is it a bad thing to use wd40 or starting fluid to get the thing going?
Any advice would be great Thanks

I would think if your scooter has been sitting for awhile that that the problem would be within your carburetter. It probably just needs a good clean out. You will have to remove the carburettor from the scooter. Once removed take off the top there will be a thin diaphram holding the slider and needle jet. Inspect diphram for any sign of wear or holes (pin ***** size) and clean needle jet and slider taking great care not to damage. Remove the bottom of the carb remove float assembly and Main Jet inspect and clean (including the float bowl) . Remove Auto choke assembly and clean needle. When finshed reassemble carburettor .
