My ABIT AW8-Max motherboard is showing an error "83", the manual I got of ine does not explain much other than saying "save all data in stack back to CMOS"! I dont really know what i need to do to fix this, Any ideas ?
Error message: 83h, Save all target="_blank">http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AW8-MAX&fMTYPE=LGA775&pPRODINFO=Manual Click on the blue arrow to start the download. You will also need WinZip to uncompress the zip file. Download Winzip @ this link; http://download.cnet.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html Than you'll need Adobe reader to view the manual. Download and install Adobe @ http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/ Open the manual to page 2-8. Follow the instructions to clear the cmos. (Wait 30 seconds). Reset the cmos jumper back to normal. Boot you're system and press the Delete key on you're keyboard to enter the bios. Turn to page 3-1. Once the bios/cmos has been cleared the cmos resets the bios back to default settings. You will have to change some setting depending what is connected to you're motherboard. When finished save and exit the bios. The system will auto restart. If you receive the error massage again than you'll need to replace the cmos battery. If after replacing the battery the error message still returns the last option would be to flash the bios/cmos with the latest bios. You'll find the bios file and bios utility/firmware from the Abit link below; http://www.abit.com.tw/page/en/motherboard/motherboard_detail.php?pMODEL_NAME=AW8-MAX&fMTYPE=LGA775
