My AC stopped working. I can see that the compressor clutch is not engaging. My Freon pressure was very low so I added to the proper level. But still doesn't work
One possibility is because not enough Freon. My Freon pressure was very low so I added to the proper level. I am able to bypass the big fuse with a paper clip and the compressor clutch engages just fine and the AC works great. But as soon as I remove the paper clip and put the big fuse back in the clutch disengages. I tried replacing the big fuse and it doesn't help the problem. Small AC fuse is fine. My dash AC button lights up when pushed. Does the computer need to be re-set now that the Freon is back up to the proper level?

I need year--make--model?
You removed the fuse and used paper clip in the fuse socket? I'm just trying to understand what you did with paper clip?
Did you check voltage on control side of relay? Fuse protected. Can you check for hvac trouble codes, if there are any?
I'm not a hvac expert, I found this.
