My Acer Aspire 5732Z has a problem wth the keyboard registering, it appears to be random, some keys require several presses before working, on top of that my touchpad has a mind of it's own. I have read the solution offered and firstly removed my battery, cleaned the contacts and replaced it, since then whilst typing up to this point I have had 8 keyboard failures. Acer suggest returning it for up to 20 days under warranty, of course they specify that if they believe it is a software fault they will charge £68.48 for the repair, I cannot afford to be without my laptop for 20 days and am not sure that they will be totally honest about he fault, can you help? P.S. 14 more faults that is 22 in total in this short request
This is undoubtably the keyboard matrix gone faulty.I replace them all the time, it is pretty easy.. and replacements are about $60 - $90, eBay has them.. You will also need a service manual, link below, to know how to pull the Laptop apart. http://printer1.blogspot.com/2008/03/acer-aspire-368055705580-service-manual.html
