My adapter won't connect to my wireless router at all. The adapter is for my xbox 360. I have installed the software on my pc (where my wireless router is) and all I want to do is get on Xbox live. Please help

This adapter only works in a computer, It will not work in a 360. Microsoft makes a special one that does work for the 360, however.
