What brand is your voicemail system? Are there other phones on the system still working? Have you tried to reboot the voicemail system yet? We have a starmail and once a year or so I'll have a phone do what you secribe and all I do is shutdown the voicemail side (leave the nortel box alone) and turn it back on. That usually solves the problem. You may have accidently deleted the mailbox to. If you have another phone, go into the admin and be sure the box in question is still active in the system memory.
As for AA...Did it get turned off? Do you program it from the phone or thru a PC? It sounds like all your troubles are in the voicemail system so I would definitely reboot it and post again with what happens.
I assume you have your phone equipment all together in a safe place...You should have at least two boxes on the wall. One is a nortel box for the phone system, the other is a voicemail system. Mine is a Starmail, your is whatever...
The first thing is to verify your voicemail system is still on. A power issue could have easily cooked the little power converter that plugs into the wall.
If you enter Feature 986 (or is it 983, I forget) can you get to the voicemail login?
If not, replace the power supply. If so, look into the programming.I assume you have your phone equipment all together in a safe place...You should have at least two boxes on the wall. One is a nortel box for the phone system, the other is a voicemail system. Mine is a Starmail, your is whatever...

1) Try Feature 903. If this shows "inactive feature" as well, you will need to power down the Flash. 2) Power the Flash up and wait 10 minutes for it to adjust. 3) After 10 minutes, enter Feature 903. Select "next" on the display. When the display shows f980-f989, select "ok." This will allow you to use the high feature codes of the Flash Voice Mail. 4) Enter Feature 983. If it has a "PSWD" prompt, you will need to enter 266344 as the password. Follow the options to choose languages and complete a basic configuration. If you receive a "LOG" prompt, enter 1020000 if you have a 3-digit DN or 120000 if you have a 2-digit DN. 5) Once you have completed these steps, you will be able to access the Flash Voice Mail programming.
Hello! It would appear that feature #981 (open your mailbox) is not programed. The Administrative access code is: Feature ***23646 (password)...Which is ADMIN=23646.
You may have the Compact ICS or the OX32 unit; Which in this case is...Feature***22742 (password)...Which is BASIC=22742.
If the feature is programed then...Press feature button...Then 981 2.
If you have any questions I will be more then happy to assist you; Just write a comment and I'll respond.
