Not attempting to undermine answer above in anyway - but may I ask; Have you moved the vacuum to another place in the house and tried it? Your living room for example - look in your breaker box/the plug outlets are connected - and there will be 1 breaker for that 'strip' of plugs. There should be another for the kitchen, the bedrooms, utility room, etc. - take a look at the numbers on the breakers. A relatively low number is a low amp breaker; if you had a bunch of items like electronics for your entertainment center all running in the living room - you may be close to the max for that amp rated breaker - plugging in something like that Dyson may put you over the brink and throw your breaker. Look at your laundry room breaker - should be a decent sized - if there's a plug in your utility room - try plugging in the Dyson somewhere else - if your electrical outlet is shot - you'll start having those types of symptoms - or if the breaker is getting weak. Just an idea, something to try - and a little info that may help in the future. - All The Best
