My Braun electric shaver model 7680 has stopped functioning probably due to a dead battery ( I had it for years). A service center is asking in excess of 60 dollars to fix it. Battery and mother board have to be ordered from the factory. Is there a more economical alternative?

If the shaver is completely dead and the charging lights no longer illuminate when plugged in, the circuit board will need changed. If they still illuminate when plugged in, you can just change the batteries.
You will find the batteries and also the circuit board with batteries at shaveroutlet.com. You can order which you require. See links below
