My calypso washing machine will not turn on. The only button that works on the electonic panel is the stop/pause button. When I push it, it always says 8. What's wrong?

There is a recall on the electronic controls on this, contact Whirlpool corp via their website and call customer relations. They will issue a concession for parts and labor to have it replaced.
