I had the same problem with my camera it came on, it clicked, it said goodbye and that was it. what i did and it has worked since is apply gentle pressure to the lens and it's parameters. it took a few times of doing this between attempts at getting it to stay on, but it worked great. i do not remember, but i may also have applied scant pressure to the lens while powering it on.

Hello. The main cause of the trouble you describe is a weak battery. Check the battery and then charge it or replace it. J.
