My CH DVD player is about 10 years old. I can't turn the unit on either with the remote or power button. The indicator light is neither red nor green but yellow. None of the unit's buttons work and I can't get the DVD out. How do I get the disk out?

Unscrew the casing and take it out from there. By the sounds of it your dvd has bitten the dust so it wont matter much about damaging it anymore than it is already
I have this exact same problem -- the light is yellow. If I press and hold the Open button, it lights green as long as I hold it in. If I do the same with the Play buttom, it lights red. If I hold both of those in, the light turns off. Otherwise, the yellow light stays on. I have a strange feeling that some kind of hard reset would fix this problem... Does anyone have an idea on that?
There is a slot on the bottom of the unit that will allow the disk to be ejected when there is no power. Use a small screw driver and slide in the direction indicated. Then the DVD drawer can be pulled open. Check the 5V power supply output and if low, less than 4V, replace the 5V filter caps.
Mine was stopped for over 2 years, called the two days and it worked ok, I called again yesterday and rose to yellow light, I checked and was the source of the problem, two electrolytic capacitors stews, one of 2200UF x 10v and another 1000UF x 10v, replace and it worked ok, probably was some discharge outlet.
