By runs I am assuming that when the chain is the clutch spins with the engine; if that is the case... 1. When properly adjusted you can pull the chain up off of the bar to see 1 full and two partial tooth guides. If the chain is adjusted properly 2.Check the bar tip roller to make sure it rolls., If that is ok 3. Take the bar and chain off and use one tooth guide to go all the way around the bar to make sure the slot is not crimped shut somewhere. If 2 or 3 are at fault replace the bar. Did you know most chainsaw pro's recommend you replace the clutch outer (the sproket part) AND the bar after the 3rd chain replacement or anytime the bar or clutch are replaced for any reason. I live by it and never have trouble with the bar, chain or clutch.
