Computers & Internet - Toshiba - PA3235U-3BTM Network Adapter
I would suggest you donot out email address into forums as there are robots who look for valid email address to use for spam. a few things to try with the adapter 1) have a look and make sure it is switched on - Most laptops have a wireless switch - some a physical switch other use a combination of the FN key + one of the F key to toggle on/off - make sure this is on 2) goto device manager do this -------- press the Windows key {bottom left of the keyboard} and press the R key at same time, in the box that comes up type devmgmt.msc Now click on the + sign next to network adapters make sure you can see a wifi adapter listed - should have wifi or 802.11 in the name - make sure no X or ? or ! are against the device - if there are you may need to download the drivers - these are available from the toshiba support website 3) The pc may have a firewall blocking to test if you do have access to the internet can you do the following:-------start>run{vista/7 search box}>CMD>ping google.com ----- see if you get a reply message sent 4 times - if you do then you do have access to internet - if you do not get a reply do this ping 209.191.93.53 ------ if you get a reply from this number BUT not from the name then its a DNS issue. ------------ assuming that you get a reply from both , then I suspect its a firewall blocking, disable the firewall, now firewalls such as Norton, Mcafee etc can cause issues even if you think you have removed them in the past , or a subscription has expired. to remove these firewalls i would suggest you use a removal tool which is available at most of the manufacturers website - if you reply with a comment on what you have I can post the link now if its a dns issue try the following ---------- start>run{vista/7 search box}>CMD>ipconfig /dnsflush -------- if that does not work - then you could try a public DNS like google public DNS here http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/ the link also shows you how to configure your PC - if that works then post a comment back and we can see if we can get it working on the correct dns servers from your isp
