My computer wont open my hard drive so i can acess my files
Its worked fine on this computer, but one day it couldnt open it and it said that i have to reformat my hard drive in order to use it. ive tryed updates and using uniblue to try and fix it. it doesnt even call it what i renamed my drive. it calls it drive i. what should i do, i have alot of important information on there that i dont want to lose. i wasnt ever able to do a back up, there was a problem when i tryed that. what do you think that i should do?

The issue you having here is two fold, Ether the unit's power supply is not powering the controller board for the usb fully or you got a bad controller board.
I have taken this out of its case more then once I have a youtube video of that fact and have written a tip on the recovery of the drive. Please follow the link below and look at the tip.
Your only hope is that when you extract the hard disk from the case and put it in your pc the disk will be recognized and accessible. If it isn't then it's dead as a dodo and all your data on it is gone.
