My coolant fan drained my battery overnight would not shut off so i jumped the car and disconnected the battery do i need a mechanic to fix or is this an easy task for my husband to do?
Not a sports coupe , anyway my mechanic told us to disconnect the battery so we did but can my husband fix it is it a fuse or relay switch? Thanks, Carol

It depends on the make vehicle an model an year too . Could be that the contacts inside the cooling fan relay are stuck closed ,could have some kind of module that controls it . If it is a relay that's a very easy fix , pull out the bad one an stick in a new one . You will find relays in the under hood fuse / relay box (engine compartment)
The sensor that turns on the coolant fan most likely needs to be replaced. It really depends on how mechanically inclined your husband is as weather or not he can fix it. Not everyone is skilled in the same areas.
